Orthodontic care is a unique process, and every individual seeking care deserves personalized attention. Everyone has different goals and expectations about orthodontics.
Dr. Mibab considers the initial visit a very important step in choosing the right orthodontist and creating a beautiful smile. There is no charge for the examination.
On your first visit to our office, please bring your completed health history form and any applicable orthodontic insurance information. You may print the health history form from our website, and you can fill it out online before printing it. It is also included in a new patient welcome packet that is mailed to your home prior to the initial visit.
This first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know you and what you want to accomplish. Our staff will take a complimentary panorex X-ray (development image) of you or your child’s teeth using our state of the art digital imaging system. Dr. Mibab will examine you or your child’s teeth and face to determine if orthodontic treatment is needed. If it is determined that orthodontic care is indicated, a treatment plan recommendation will be made based on your specific situation, explaining the procedures involved, treatment options, best time to begin treatment and an estimate of how long the treatment should take. Dr. Mibab may use visual aids such as multimedia presentations and computer imaging to help you understand your orthodontic needs. The orthodontic investment will also be presented.
The initial examination does not always result in a recommendation
to immediate treatment. After evaluating your child, Dr. Mibab may simply want to check him or her periodically to monitor the dental and skeletal development. During this period, we will place your child in our growth and guidance program. There is no charge or commitment for these periodic checkups.
Records
If orthodontic treatment is recommended, diagnostic records are needed to provide Dr. Mibab with information in addition to the clinical examination which will assist in determining what treatment would deliver the best and most effective results. Records usually include radiographs of both the teeth and jaws, impressions of the teeth for plaster study models and facial and intraoral digital photographs. We know your time is valuable, so to expedite treatment, we may also reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records.
